WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS AND HOW DO ONLINE THERAPY SESSIONS WORK?

I am here to support you on your journey of personal growth and well-being through online therapy, and I am delighted to work with you toward achieving your goals. Confidentiality & Respect

All information shared during online therapy sessions is strictly confidential and will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent. You can express yourself openly in a safe and supportive environment throughout our sessions.

Preparing for Your Session

Online therapy sessions take place via a secure video conferencing platform and typically last 50 minutes. All you need is a stable internet connection and a quiet, private space where you can feel comfortable and speak freely in complete confidentiality.

Payment Terms & Conditions

Payment details will be discussed during our first online consultation (see below: “Costs & Reimbursement“), and sessions will be billed from the second session. Appointments are scheduled in advance, and the allocated time is exclusively reserved for you. If you cancel less than 48 hours before your session, a cancellation fee of €60 will apply.

If you want to meet me in person and have a few in-person sessions, you can find me in Munich at the “Praxisgemeinschaft am Englischen Garten.” You can learn more or book a session through the Praxis Englischer Garten website.

Reimbursement of Fees

If you have private insurance, supplementary insurance, or, in some cases, public health insurance in Germany (see below: “Costs & Reimbursement“), you will need to schedule an initial in-person appointment to ensure that your therapy costs are covered. Once confirmed, we can begin your online therapy sessions together.

Online Therapy: How Does It Work?

Free First Consultation

  • Book your free 20-minute consultation.

  • Get to know me in a trusting and comfortable setting, and ask any questions you may have.

  • Together, we’ll explore whether my online services are the right fit for you. 

2.

First Sessions

  • Book one or more 50-minute online sessions, depending on your needs.
  • Explore your reasons for seeking therapy and your current symptoms.
  • Define clear therapeutic goals tailored to your unique needs.
  • Establish a trusting and supportive therapeutic relationship.

3.

How Follow-Up Sessions Work

  • Implementation of various therapeutic interventions.
  • Personalized exercises to practice between sessions, helping you integrate progress into your daily life.
  • Ongoing adjustments and follow-ups based on your evolving needs. 

4.

End of Therapy

  • Achievement of therapeutic goals.

  • Strengthening of skills and personal resources.

  • Transition toward greater autonomy.

  • You can choose to end your therapy at any time. 

 Costs and reimbursement

Private Health Insurance (Privat) and/or Supplementary Insurance (Beihilfe) in Germany

Private health insurance and supplementary insurance (Beihilfe) generally cover psychotherapy costs. However, the reimbursement depends on your contract with your insurance provider. Before starting therapy, I recommend checking with your insurer to confirm whether they cover consultations with a psychotherapist. I am happy to assist you in clarifying your insurance coverage for psychotherapeutic treatment (cognitive behavioral therapy). My fees follow the official fee schedule for psychotherapists (GOP). Public Health Insurance (Gesetzlich) in Germany

I cannot bill public health insurance providers directly because I operate a private practice. However, in certain exceptional cases, therapy may be reimbursed through the cost reimbursement procedure (Kostenerstattungsverfahren). To qualify for reimbursement, you must demonstrate that you could not obtain an appointment with a publicly approved behavioral therapist within a reasonable timeframe and distance. Self-Financing

Of course, you also have the option to cover the cost of therapy yourself. In this case, no formalities are required, and no data will be shared with your health insurance provider. Click here for a list of psychotherapy services available.

Living Abroad with Different Health Insurance Coverage?

If you live outside of Germany or have different health insurance conditions, you must check with your provider regarding coverage for therapy sessions. You can also view the current rates in Europe (and worldwide) here to get a general idea of the costs. I am happy to discuss the necessary steps and assist you.
